My true love is crafting long form feature length documentary movies. I have won at film festivals, had a movie on PBS TV, addressed a sold out crowd of 430 people…but all I really care about is getting the message out there. For me, if a film doesn’t have a specific call to action, then it’s not for me. I also break a rule that many filmmakers eschew, by being in the film myself. I tell the story by being involved in the story. And I tell the story from experience because I don’t just make a movie, I get involved in the effort personally, caring about the places I am filming to protect.
